I WILL TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU: site-specific installation, brick column, vaseline, glitters, 2005.

In the historical building of the Brämer curia in Bratislava I noticed a column which was slightly different from the rest of the dark stone wall. That column was covered by such a thin layer of cement that one could see bricks sticking out of it. I decided to finish the column and do my best in order to improve its shape. As I wasn’t a mason master and actually it was my first time I laid bricks, the column wasn’t perfectly straight. Gradually, I started to treat it in a more “human” way and I was looking for some material so that I could finish it. Since I built a kind or “relationship” with the column I needed “human” materials. So I put some protective vaseline on the column and decorated it with different hair glitters as if I were taking care of a close friend.
This installation belongs to the early works of the author.

"V historickej budove Brämerovej kúrie v Bratislave som si všimol stĺp, ktorý sa mierne odlišoval od svojho okolia - tmavej kamennej steny. Bol nahrubo omietnutý cementom, v tak tenkej vrstve, že spod nej presvitali tehly. Rozhodol som sa, že ho dokončím a jeho tvar vylepším najlepšie ako budem vedieť. Keďže nie som veľmi zručný v murárskych prácach, a vlastne to bolo po prvý krát, čo som muroval, stĺp nakoniec nebol práve ukážkovo rovný. Postupne však bol môj prístup ku stĺpu osobnejší. Začal som hľadať nejaký materiál na jeho dokončenie, a keďže som si k nemu vytvoril 'vzťah', vedel som, že materiály musia byť 'ľudské'. Povrch stĺpu som teda ošetril vazelínou a skrášlil trblietkami do vlasov, akoby som sa staral o niekoho blízkeho.
Inštalácia patrí k raným prácam umelca.
